The International conference on the successful implementation of the MEMO project, that is co-financed by the Program MED, is organized by Piraeus Port Authority S.A.–Lead Partner, in the hotel METROPOLITAN, on the 27th of March 2012 (09:15 – 15:00) in Athens.
MEMO - Mediterranean Electronic Marine Highways Observatory- promotes the sustainable growth of the marine and coastal regions of the Mediterranean, combining the environmental management and the safety of marine transports with technologies such as AIS, Radar and VTS.
In the framework of the conference the participants will have the opportunity to be informed for the results of the project and their application in the Mediterranean ports (Ports of Piraeus, Venice, Valencia and Koper). The conference includes a special session for the presentation of good practices and experiences in the thematic areas of MEMO, strengthening thus its practical contribution in the wider port community.
The International MEMO conference aims to contribute in the creation of synergies among responsible Institutions and Organizations for the establishment of common and effective solutions and strategies in the Mediterranean region. In the project the following organizations are represented: 5 Mediterranean countries (Greece, France, Italy, Spain, Slovenia) and the respective Institutions: Piraeus Port Authority, BIC of Attica, MEDITERRANEAN Network SOS, Liguria Region – Marseille Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Hersonissos Port, Venice Port Authority, - FEPORTS and Port of Koper.
