The representatives of Mytilene met with the President of the Hellenic Ports Association, Mr. George Anomeritis, with the main topic of interest being the development of cruise policies in the island of Lesbos.
The meeting was attended by the MP Mr. Pavlos Vogiatzis, the Regional Prefect of North Aegean Mr. Athanasios Giakalis, the Regional Secretary General Mrs. Christiana Kalogirou, the President of the Chamber of Lesvos Mr. Thrasivoulos Kalogridis and the President of the Port Fund of Mytilene. Due to this issue there was a special communication with both the Deputy Minister of Interior, Mr. Charalambos Athanassiou, and the General Secretary of the Maritime Ministry, Mr. Konstadinos Moutzouris.
At the meeting it was agreed that, apart from any aid or assistance in the operation of the Petra port as a tourist transit gateway, to subscribe a Programmatic Agreement between governing bodies of Lesvos (District, Municipality, Port Authority and Chamber), PPA SA and its subsidiary Piraeus Port Authority Consulting & Logistics SA, with the aim of drawing up a master-plan and specific actions for the port system of the island, focusing on cruise infrastructure and its operations.
