With the awards ceremony of the International Architectural Competition for the Museum of Underwater Antiquities by the Minister of Education, Religion, Culture and Sports, Mr. K. Arvanitopoulos, the Minister of Marine and the Aegean Mr. K. Mousouroulis, the Vice-District Commissioner of the Piraeus Regional Unity Mr. S. Christou and the General Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Mrs. Lina Mendoni, begins tomorrow Thursday, March 28th, 2013 at 13:00, the exhibition of the proposals of architectural firms that took part in the open international tender.
As it is known, this competition, which is part of the overall project "Cultural Coast of Piraeus", concerns the redesign of the existing building of grain storage (SILO) and the surrounding area into the Museum of Underwater Antiquities. With this project it is attempted to redevelop the Coastal Zone of PPA SA into a free, open air, outdoor entertainment area.
The award ceremony and exhibition of all the studies will be held in the showroom of the stone warehouse, located next to the Ministry of Marine and the Aegean.
