The cruise ship Costa Magica was welcomed with festivities by PPA SA, at the main cruise port, thus honoring the day completing 65 years of operation of the company COSTA CROCIERE, which is a stable long-term partner of PPA SA. COSTA CROCIERE is an Italian company controlled by British and Americans, based in Genoa and is now under the control of the Carnival Corporation.
The 3.750 passengers of the COSTA MAGICA, the captain and the crew were welcomed by the Administration of PPA SA with Easter greetings since the Western Church celebrates Easter on March 31. Passengers were welcomed by a band and dancing with traditional music from early in the morning when they landed.
As the President and CEO of PPA SA Mr. George Anomeritis said: "2013 will be for the cruise section of PPA SA a season of growth. An area which we support with new infrastructure, fixed tariffs, high security standards and quality of service.
We welcome the “birthday” of a company which was founded in 1854 and was reestablished in 1947, thus serving cruising in the Greek islands for decades."
The cruise ship COSTA MAGICA, 102.687 gt, length 271 meters, 13 floors and 1.027 crew members, was constructed in 2004 and is a regular visitor of the PPA.
