PPA SA was visited by a large delegation of the Transport Committee of Shanghai Municipality and Shanghai Port Authority (SMTPA), which was welcomed by the President and CEO of PPA SA Mr. George Anomeritis, the General Director Mr. Stavros Chatzakos and managers of PPA SA.
Main topics of the meeting were:
• Medium-term development goals of the Port of Piraeus
• Market developments in container handling
• Estimates of the global crisis on transport of goods by sea and the effect they have on the ship repairing ships and maritime activities and
• Issues relating to the development and cruise port infrastructure for cruise ships.
Note that the equity of Port of Shanghai with wide-ranging responsibilities as regulator belongs entirely to Local Government and Regional Government, without equity participation by private investors.
Both sides agreed to continue their cooperation and the promotion of the ports of Piraeus and Shanghai, through the exchange of information, data, experiences and evaluations.
