The President and CEO of PPA SA, Mr. George Anomeritis, and his colleagues presented the crest of the harbor and books to the captain Tony Draper and his officers of the cruise ship “Royal Princess”, as gifts to mark the first arrival to Piraeus of the newly constructed ship by Carnival.
In his statement, Mr. George Anomeritis said that “the first five months of 2013 compared with 2012 in the port of Piraeus show an increase in transit cruise passengers by 17.23%”, while he welcomed the decision of the European Commission, announced by the Commissioner Mrs. M. Damanaki, whereby Piraeus and the port will be the Maritime Capital of Europe in 2015. “It goes without saying that the PPA, as an Authority and an Enterprise, will work with the Government and all stakeholders of Piraeus, so 2015 becomes the year of promotion and development for Piraeus and Greek Shipping”.
