The Board of PPA SA approved the contract and contractual documents for the award of the project “Underground road, linking the commercial port at the car-terminal N.Ikonio with the adjacent site of the former ODDY, 75.000 m2, estimated at 50.707 Euros plus VAT”.
The aim of the project is to utilize investments of this space in order to expand the car-terminal or for logistics work.
Preliminary studies have been made by the PPA Department of Works, and geotechnical studies are an open procedure under Law 3316/2005 implementing public procurement studies.
The underground link between the two sites will rid the area of ground traffic on the road Piraeus-Schisto in a highly loaded traffic area.
This is another project of the investment program of PPA SA, which involves upgrading the commercial port and especially the car-terminal, which in recent years has developed into the largest car-terminal of the Eastern Mediterranean.
