In the Port of Piraeus, under the organizational responsibility of the PPA, the General Assembly of the European Sea Ports Organisation (ESPO), will be held, in May 2015.
The decision was reached unanimously by all European ports during the General Assembly of the ESPO 2014 in Gothenburg, Sweden.
At a special tribute, organized by the Presidency of the ESPO, was attended by the President and CEO of the Agency, Mr. George Anomeritis and Gen. Director Mr. Stavros Hatzakos, who thanked all ports for accepting the proposal of PPA SA.
As it is known, at the General Assemblies of ESPO, all major European ports, the Local Authorities and representatives of shipping and port industries are involved.
As Mr. George Anomeritis commented: “Together with the celebration of the European Maritime Day 2015, we will host for the first time in the history of ESPO, at the port of Piraeus, the General Assembly of the Organization, which supports the development , transport, logistics, Trans-European Networks (in which the port of Piraeus is included), the port industry overall . The decision, of PPA organizing the General Assembly, which will be attended by representatives of all the ports of Europe, International Organizations and Local Authorities, is an honor and a responsibility, which together with all the stakeholders of Piraeus, the defense and the government, we will show and we will highlight”.
