The General Assembly of the European Sea Ports Organisation (ESPO), conducted in Gothenburg, Sweden, 14-16 May 2014, will be attended - as representatives of PPA SA – by the President and CEO, Mr. George Anomeritis and the General Director Mr. Stavros Hatzakos. At the General Assembly, the Minister of Marine and the Aegean, Mr. Miltiadis Varvitsiotis, the Commissioner Mr. Slim Kallas, representatives of all stakeholders in shipping, port industry and the unions, and representatives of states from 265 ESPO ports have been invited to attend.
Main themes, are the competition between areas of activity of European ports, as well as the positions of candidates and parties for the new European parliament, on the issue of voting New Regulation for the port market.
At the 10 round tables, which will follow the General Assembly, the issues of trans-European networks (TEN-T), maritime routes, the Ecoports, the development of research on harbors , Green Energy (LNG) , etc will be discussed.
The General Assembly will close its operations with a tribute to Greece, Piraeus and the PPA, since it is considered a certainty that the GA will decide that the work of the next General Assembly of ESPO will be in May 2015, at the Port of Piraeus.
