Addressing the winners, the CEO and President of PPA SA, Mr. George Anomeritis, among others said: “We establish this year a special homage to users of our port services, with whom we have long standing relationships, for their contribution to the development of our business and enlarging of our profits. Certainly many others have contributed to this end, like the sole operator PCT SA. As it is known, the enactment under new EU regulation for the port market provides, among other things, the establishment of “port users’ council” to each port Agency. I would suggest, with everybody’s initiative, to set up the Council quickly and within 2014, irrespective of the course of enactment of the Patent Rules of Parliament. The setting will enhance the functions of the port, since its potential customers will also be its advisors. The implementation of Law 4150/13, the establishment of the Regulatory Authority for Ports, the distinction of Public Authority and businesses and the 322 small and large Concessions of PPA SA, create a wide field of understanding for the development of port industry and the national economy.”
