Welcome of the new built cruise ship "VIKING SKY”
by the PPA S.A. Management.
The Management and executives of PPA S.A. welcomed today Friday 24.03.2017 the newly built cruise ship "VIKING SKY” at the port of Piraeus, handed a commemorative plaque to the cpt. ROBERT BAMBERG and books for the ship’s library.
The ship is 230 meters long, with capacity 950 passengers, 490 crew members and belongs to the VIKING OCEAN CRUISES company which is operating in the Piraeus port with homeporting passengers.
As is known, the PPA's Management is making great efforts to increase the homeporting in Piraeus and participated again this year in Seatrade Cruise Global, the biggest international exhibition of the cruise industry. During the exhibition and the B2B meetings of the PPA executives with the cruise companies, emerged very positive messages for the growth prospects of the Greek cruise.
The interest of major operators was focused on the new PPA strategic planning and particularly on the new infrastructure, the existing services upgrade and adding new services to passengers and ships. Very positive impression also made the plan of introducing the Mediterranean cruise destinations to Chinese passengers with starting point Piraeus.
