Official visit of China's Minister of Transport
at the port of Piraeus
The China's Minister of Transport Mr. Li Xiaopeng made an official visit at the headquarters of PPA S.A., in the presence of the Chinese Ambassador to Greece, Ms. Zhang Qiyue. The Minister was toured to all the operational units of the port of Piraeus, accompanied by the Chairman of COSCO SHIPPING Capt. Xu Lirong and the CEO of PPA S.A. Capt. Fu Chengqiu and was informed about the achievements of Piraeus port in recent years as well as about current developments.
During his visit, Mr. Li Xiaopeng stated that COSCO SHIPPING's investment is a successful model of mutually beneficial cooperation between Greece and China. He referred to the importance of the project achieved up to now and stressed that Piraeus aims to move up even higher in the world port rankings. He also highlighted the importance of the continuation of investments in Piraeus Port rapidly, so that they could further contribute to the development of the Greek economy, promote relations between the two countries in the sectors of commerce, tourism, supply chain, as well as to enhance the China's new initiative "One Belt-One Road" for the global trade facilitation.
