PPA S.A.: Docking of the floating museum “Thalis o Milissios”
Piraeus Port Authority, meeting a relevant request of the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping, approved the docking of the museum ship "Thalis o Milissios" without any finance charge, in order this historic ship to remain navigable and visitable.
The ship "Thalis o Milissios" belongs to the Aegean Maritime Museum, which is a non-profit institution, was built in 1909 and is the oldest ship recorded in the Hellenic Shipping Registry.
"The Management of PPA S.A. decided the total cost exemption for the docking of a historic ship, which is linked with the maritime tradition and history”, stated the Deputy CEO Capt. Weng Lin during his visit at the docking place and his meeting with the President of the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping, Mr. G. Pateras and the President of the Aegean Maritime Museum Mr. G. Makrymichalos.
