PPA S.A. acquired a passenger disembarkation platform for emergency circumstances.
PPA S.A. proceeded to the study and procurement of a new passenger disembarkation platform, which was constructed taking into consideration the dimensions of the ships of Coastal Shipping as well as cruise ships which operate in the wider area and will be used in cases of inability to use the ship's own means. The new platform can be used safely on ships of various sizes calling at the port of Piraeus and it improves the operational capacity of the port to deal with emergencies.
The whole process was carried out under the supervision of an independent Inspection and Certification Body (INDEPENDENT THIRD PARTY) and all the prescribed design and construction standards were observed, aiming at the safety upgrading in the PPA’s areas of responsibility.
