The HORIZON 2020 project SAURON (Scalable multidimensionAl sitUation awaReness sOlution for protectiNg European ports (www.sauronproject.eu)), funded by the European Commission under contract 7400477, organized the “Pilot Event of the EU project SAURON” that was held on February 13, 2020, at Piraeus Port Authority, “ALIKIMOS” Cruise Terminal III.

The Chairman of the PPA S.A. Mr. Yu Zenggang had a cooperation meeting with the Attica Regional Governor Mr. Giorgos Patoulis with subject the expansion of the Piraeus passenger terminal for the construction of 2 berthing positions for "new generation" cruise ships. The project of initial budget € 120 million, is funded by the European Regional Development Fund through Priority Axis 7 of the Regional Operational Program Attica 2014-2020.  

PPA S.A. announces that the construction company TEKAL S.A. was awarded as the construction contractor of the Cruise Terminal Expansion project of Piraeus Port Authority, after the financial bid of € 103 million plus VAT, initially budgeted € 136.3 million.   

A copy of the 19,100 TEU's 'CSCL Globe' container ship was COSCO SHIPPING's gift to the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy.

The expansion of the Piraeus passenger terminal for the construction of 2 berthing positions for the "new generation" cruise ships over 280 meters long and with 2,500 passengers’ capacity, was the focus of the meeting between Attica Regional Governor G. Patoulis with representatives of the Piraeus Port Authority. The project amounts to € 120 million which is funded by the European Regional Development Fund through Priority Axis 7 of the Regional Operational Program Attica 2014-2020.

Today, 21st November 2019 at the events’ hall of PPA S.A. took place the ceremony for the establishment of the cooperation between the COSCO SHIPPING Charity Foundation and the Hellenic Red Cross, in the presence of the Minister of Shipping and Insular Policy Mr. Yiannis Plakiotakis, Members of the Parliament of A and B Piraeus, representatives of local authorities and other institutions.
