The cruise ship “Mein Schiff 6” departed from Piraeus last night and the disembarkation/ embarkation of the passengers was successfully completed under strict safety measures, in compliance with all the relevant protocols.
To further expand the strategic importance of its port for the international vehicle trade, the Piraeus Port Authority (PPA) S.A., member of COSCO SHIPPING group, has decided to invest into end-to-end digitization and optimization. The company has awarded a project to the well-known optimization specialist INFORM from Aachen, Germany, to improve the efficiency and transparency of vehicle handling at the port's car terminal.

The Annual General Assembly of the PPA S.A. shareholders took place today Friday 17th July 2020 with a quorum of 86.41% and approved among other items the Annual Financial Statements and the Dividend Distribution for the financial year 2019, which, as the Board of Directors proposed, amounts to € 0.5388 per share, compared to € 0.424 of the previous year (an increase of 27%).
Piraeus Port Authority, meeting a relevant request of the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping, approved the docking of the museum ship "Thalis o Milissios" without any finance charge, in order this historic ship to remain navigable and visitable.
The Green C Ports European Project has been awarded the 2020 World Port Sustainability Award of the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH) in the ceremony which took place online on June 24, with the participation of port authorities from around the world and representatives of the European Commission and of the project itself. Specifically, Green C Ports was distinguished in the category of “Resilient Infrastructure”.

S.A. announces that today, Friday, on the 26th of June of 2020, the BoD Chairman Mr. YU Zenggang signed with the representatives of the PPA S.A.’s employees the prolongation of the validity of the company’s Collective Labor Agreement. Both parties agreed to continue with the negotiations during summer and to reach an agreement about the new CLA the soonest possible.
Following the press articles regarding the signing of the new Collective Labor Agreement of the PPA S.A. employees, replacing the existing one which expires on June, 30th 2020 after the extension that was given by the Government, PPA S.A. announces as follows:
PPA S.A. in the framework of actions of Corporate and Social Responsibility proceeded to one more donation of sanitary material (protective masks and antiseptics) to the programme of the Therapy Center for Dependent Individuals “KETHEA EN DRASI” (KETHEA IN ACTION).
The PPA S.A. announces that the tender regarding the project “Repairs of Pavements and Rails for RMG Cranes of Pier I Container Terminal” within the framework of Mandatory Education 02 has been completed and the Contractor awarded is “UNION OF COMPANIES DAMON A.T.E. - TECHNIKI ERGON S.A. – S. TSAKOUMAGKOS A.T.E.” for the amount of € 6,800,474.91 (plus VAT).
