The administration of PPA SA, on the request of the Embassy, met with the Ambassador of Vietnam Mr. Binh Vu, in continuation to the cooperation triggered by the Posidonia 2014.

The newest cruise ship in the world, the “REGAL PRINCESS”, was officially welcomed at Piraeus Port by the Administration of PPA SA and shipping operators. The event took place on the ship, where guests were greeted by Captain Edward Perrin and his officers, exchanging salutations and souvenirs with the President and CEO of PPA SA  Mr. Giorgos Anomeritis, the President of MedCruise Mr. Stavros Chatzakos and the President of E.E.K.F.N. Mr. T. Conte.

On the occasion of the UN World Maritime Day (Wednesday, 25th June), the Panhellenic Association of Merchant Navy Captains (PEPEN) and the National Union of Pensioners of Merchant Navy Captains (PESPEN) in cooperation with the PPA, are organizing a music concert with songs of the sea.

The annual General Meeting of Piraeus Port Authority SA Shareholders was held today at the conference hall of the PPA, which was attended by 85% of shareholders and representatives of shareholders (25.000.000 common shares) with as main agenda item the approval of the 2013 annual financial statements (01.01.2013 - 31.12.2013) and the Report of the Certified Public Accountants.

During Posidonia 2014, the PPA developed initiatives and organized bilateral meetings with personalities from the maritime and port areas, as well as ambassadors and representatives of foreign delegations. Among those meetings, one was with Mrs. Dame Helen Alexander of the Port of London Authority, with whom views were exchanged on the port market and, the under vote, new Regulation.

With the active support and sponsorship of PPA SA, a series of three concerts has been organized, coproduction with GREEK FESTIVAL SA and the Municipal Theatre of Piraeus, under the heading “Tetras the Renowned of Piraeus”.The performances, based on an idea and under the artistic direction of Lina Nikolakopoulou, will be hosted at the Stone Warehouse at Pier E2 of PPA, next to the Ministry of Shipping, shortly after the archaeological site of the Haetionian Gates.
